Cuenco de nogal
These days I have been making some bowls. I’ve got some nice walnut quarters laying around. The finished bowls measure about 43 x 18 cm. It has been a nice bit of plain work.

The first one had some nice spalting going on. The wood got pretty hard after a few hours. It takes a fair bit of energy to get through the first oxidated layer until finally you reach the underlaying one. For a short moment it then shaves out like butter. That’s the moment you better don’t stop! It takes me a day and a half to finish one of these bowls. You can order yours now. Every piece is unique.
El primero tiene unas coloraciones de hongos interesantes. Tras unas horas la madera se vuelve durísima. Se necesita mucha energía para atravesar la primera capa oxidada, hasta que finalmente se accede a la siguiente capa. Once the heavy work with the carving axe and the adze done, I can go and fix the bowl securely in the vise.
